Accreditation

The MURP program at CU Denver is a distinguished top-level research university program and is fully accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board. We have produced over 1,300 graduates since the program was established in 1971.

Our MURP faculty consists of a thoughtful mix of world-class researchers and highly respected planning professionals who believe in actively engaging with students, collaborating with other planning and design professionals, and providing leadership in the community. Our MURP faculty and students are active with the American Planning Association (APA) and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP).

On the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam, for the 2004-2014 time period, CU Denver has an 84% pass rate (8 percentage points higher than the mean) and ranks 3rd among all accredited programs in North America in the total number of alumni passing the exam during the time period. Our graduates have a high rate of success in finding employment, and our MURP alumni can be found in a variety of professional positions throughout Colorado, the United States, and the world.

Additionally, during the two most recently-reported years (2012 and 2013), CU Denver had a 100% pass rate for all students that took the AICP exam.
