First Annual MURP Capstone Project Open House
Wednesday, May 13, 2015
5:00 – 7:00 PM
CAP Building (1250 14th Street)
Please join MURP faculty and students for the first annual MURP Capstone Project Open House. The event will feature poster displays by more than 25 students, summarizing their semester-long, real-world, client-based projects covering a wide range of topics. Refreshments will be served.
The Capstone project is a semester-long endeavor that allows MURP students to work on actual planning projects while still in graduate school. Students work with a client organization or agency to complete a project that is of significance and practical use to the organization. Through the project, students demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout their MURP careers in a real-world professional context.
Some of the client organizations for this round of Capstone projects include the Boulder County Department of Parks and Open Space, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Colorado Housing Finance Association, Mile High Connects, Southwest Colorado Council of Governments, the US Forest Service, and several cities and towns across Colorado. Capstone project topics vary widely, ranging from bike routes and “big data” sources for transportation planning to affordable housing and water and environmental planning quality assurance.
For more information about the Capstone requirement, please see the Capstone page on the MURP Community Website.
